But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. - Matthew 6:33 New King James Version
Start the week right, seek God first!
The weekend is over. Your rest day has ended. Monday is here, the not-so-favorite day of the week by most of us, if not all! It is time for you to get up, do the final touches for your projects and other assignments, cram for your exams, finish your reports, and be ready for school. Maybe you are thinking that this is going to be a draining and exhausting week, not a good way to begin the week!
The best way to set the right mood for the week is to seek God first. Before you get busy with school stuff, immerse yourself in God's presence, fill your heart and mind with His Word, obey His teachings, and ask Him to direct you. When you make God a priority over all things, nothing will be too hard for you.
Along the way, you will be bombarded with quizzes, homework, projects, plus you will encounter some strict and inconsiderate people, but you will definitely surpass everything because you have a God who will guide your steps and will put everything in place. It is God who will give you the presence of mind so you will accomplish everything accordingly.
Turn to God first, and all your plans will prosper the way God wants them to prosper.
Heavenly Father, You are the author of everything. Without You, I am nothing. Without You, I can't do anything. Today is the start of another challenging week. Please help me face the day with optimism. Renew my strength every day so I can do my assignments well, pass the tests, submit my projects on time, and execute my class reports confidently. Remind me always oh God to walk before You. All these things I ask and pray in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
Something To Reflect On: How do you want to start the week?
Do all things without complaining and disputing - Philippians 2:14 New King James Version
Stop complaining, be thankful instead!
It is the second day of the week, yet you are already bombarded with a long list of projects, reports, examinations, research papers, and other school stuff. And you start complaining.
But before you open your mouth and grumble, think of those people who dream of going to school, but they can't because of poverty or because of their physical and mental conditions. Think of those people who are dying to be in your position now. Without you knowing, there are a lot who are willing to do everything so they can be in school.
You are blessed. Instead of complaining, be grateful for the privilege that has been given to you. You are steps closer to your goals. All the school works assigned to you are part of your training. Do not think of them as burdens, rather treat them as instruments for your growth. God has put you in that place for a purpose. He wants you to grow so you will be more useful for His ministry.
Our gracious Father, You have given me so many blessings than I deserve. Thank you for giving me the opportunity so I can grow and do the plans You have for me. Help me see things the way you want me to see them. Guard every word that comes out from my mouth. Instead of complaints, make every word an encouragement so I can be a positive influence on others. All these, I ask and pray in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
Something To Reflect On: What are the things you are complaining about?
I will sing to the Lord, Because He has dealt bountifully with me. - Psalm 13:6 New King James Version
Praise God for all the favors!
Since the start of your journey, God has given you provisions. He has been your constant help. You are able to survive every single day because God is doing favors for you.
Do not let this day pass without giving your genuine praise to the Lord. He deserves all the praises.
You, being a student, is not a hindrance for you to worship the Lord. As a student you have your own challenges, you have your own needs, and you have your goals. You can overcome all your challenges with God. You can ask God whatever you need, and He will provide. You can reach out to God, let Him know your goals, and He will prosper you. You can always count on God.
Father in heaven, You deserve all the praises and glory. You are always on my side, and you never left me. You are the unchanging God. I am sorry for the times that I wasn't able to acknowledge Your greatness. Help me oh Lord to see your magnificence. Humble me and break this barrier in me so I can exalt You in all circumstances. All these I ask and pray in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
Something To Reflect On: What's stopping you from worshiping the Lord?
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. - James 1:5 New King James Version
When at crossroads, ask for wisdom.
As a student, you will be thrown into a situation where you have to make choices. The choices you will make are critical because these may either bring you to success or may destroy your dreams. You are not only to decide on whether you will study your lessons or not, or whether you will submit your projects or not, but you will also be choosing your circle of friends who will play a vital role in your student life. Your circle may become your inspiration or may become your greatest temptation.
When you are at crossroads, turn to God and ask for wisdom. Don't rely on yourself because at times your decision is subjective, and you decide based on what you think can make you happy. And not all things that can make you happy are good for you. Hence, you need wisdom from God to decipher the good and the bad.
God said if you lack wisdom, He will give it to you. Wisdom is beyond the knowledge that you can learn from the four corners of the classroom. It is about your ability to make wise decisions in your trying times. When you need wisdom, pray to God and He will surely supply what you need.
Father in heaven, You are the creator of all things. You are the owner of my life. Lord Jesus, the devil is at work, and I am praying You will give me the wisdom so I will not fall into his trap. Surround me with friends who fear you oh Lord. Lead me not into temptation. Be victorious in my life Jesus. Amen.

FIRE UP FRIDAY
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. - Philippians 4:13 New King James Version
Everything’s a piece of cake with God.
You tremble in front of your classmates and teacher when you do your class report, you worry about the exam because you haven't studied all your lessons, you underestimate your capacity to learn all your subjects, you fear that you will not be able to pass your course. Shoo away all those negative thinking of yours! You can do all things with Jesus Christ.
Human as you are, you have your limitations. You have your weaknesses. But God is omnipotent. God's power is limitless. You have to rely on God at all times. However, relying on God does not mean that you will just be sitting around and wait for God to do things for you. Of course, you have to take action. You have to face your stage fright, you have to study your lessons, you have to do your part as a student to the best of your ability. But as you do all these do not forget that you have a God who will help you. You will not be facing all things alone.
The next time you tremble before an audience, rebuke your nervousness in the name of Jesus Christ and ask for courage so you can deliver your report well. The next time you take an exam, ask for guidance so you can answer the questions correctly. The next time you are discouraged, pray to God and ask Him to lift you up so you can move forward and finish what you have started with flying colors.
Father in heaven, You are my strength and my fortress. You know me very well. You know my weakness. You know how limited I am. But with You, I can do everything. Remind me, Jesus, that You are with me especially in times when I think I am not capable of doing things. Give me confidence Lord so I can face all the challenges in my student life. All these I ask and pray in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
Something To Reflect On: What aspects of your student life that you are not confident in?
SLIDE BACK SATURDAY
I will remember the works of the Lord; Surely I will remember Your wonders of old. - Psalm 77:11 New King James Version
Remember what God has done for you.
You have survived the 5-day school week! You are able to comply with all that is expected of you. You did great. But you can’t claim everything to yourself because you are able to do all things with God. God has given you strength. God has given you wisdom. God has supplied all your needs. God has been by your side and has never left you.
This is the time for you to remember all the favors that the Lord did for you. Do not forget how God has been good to you.
If you are facing trials in your studies, think of how God helped you before. If you are anxious about school, recall what God has done for you. If you are doubtful about your capacity to succeed, remember how God lifted you. If God was able to rescue you before, He can rescue you now, and He will rescue you tomorrow.
Father in heaven, You are a magnificent God. You are my everlasting Father. You are my redeemer. Thank you for never leaving my side. Thank you for being my very present help in times of my needs. Lord Jesus, please help me remember Your mighty deeds, especially in my trying times. Please remind me of the miracles that You did for me. If You are able to help me before, You are still capable of helping me now. All the glory and the honor belong to You, my Lord Jesus. Amen.

SLOW DOWN SUNDAY
I will both lie down in peace, and sleep; For You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety. - Psalm 4:8 New King James Version
Rest and recharge.
It is time to slow down for a while. You may have pending works to finish but before you dive into your busy life, rest in God for a moment. Go to church and spend time with the Lord. Your priority for the day is to be with God and to seek His presence.
You need to rest and renew your strength to prepare you for another busy week ahead. Do not exhaust yourself, otherwise, you won't be able to carry out all your tasks properly. Your body needs enough rest, you need to have peace of mind.
Moreover, this is the best time for you to list down all your to do's for next week. And as soon as you are done, pray to God and ask Him for more wisdom and strength so you can accomplish everything well. Cast all your worries and fears to the Lord. Allow God to work in you.
Father in heaven, You are a living God. You are the God of peace. And it is in You where I can find comfort and peace. There are a lot of things I worry about and it is just You who can give me the peace of mind that I need. Lord Jesus, I ask and pray that You give me rest in my stressful situation. Renew my strength and help me with the challenges that I will be facing for the coming weeks. All these I ask and pray in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
