Finding Comfort in Difficult Times

Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. - Matthew 11:28 New King James Version

surrender, finding comfort in difficult times, surrender to God

An average human can lift no more than twice his or her body weight. Exceeding this weight limit may damage one’s body, hence, machines are created to help carry things that are beyond our capacity and to provide us comfort in lifting.

As much as we are limited physically, our minds and hearts are also limited in handling problems and difficulties. But the good news is, Somebody has promised us to give us comfort when things are too heavy for us to handle. He doesn't want us to take the burden alone. In fact, He wants to make it light for us. And the best part is, He will give the tired and the heavy-laden, rest. This is a promise from God.

No one else can give us comfort but God who understands everything we are going through. He knows exactly all the heaviness in your heart right now even if you can't fathom what's going on inside you.

All you need to do is to unload your baggage and bring them to Jesus Christ. Today is your opportunity to tell God your burdens and your afflictions.

He said, “Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

To Do:
Go to your room or find a private place. If you want to kneel, you can do so. Close your eyes. This is your time to unload all things to God. Tell him everything you feel. As in everything! Do not withhold. If you feel like crying, you cry and do not hold your tears. Speak out until you feel light inside.

Prayer Time: Our dear God, Father in heaven. You are great and worthy to be praised. You know everything about me. What I am going through right now is not a secret to You. I am tired of carrying this burden oh Lord and I can’t face all these difficulties alone. You promised to comfort me and to make my burdens light. I surrender to You all the heaviness in me. All the glory belongs to You oh Lord in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
